The Evolving VFX Landscape

Mara Froehlich got her start in VFX at Trixter Munich on Avengers: Age of Ultron. Though extremely challenging, the project got her hooked on the VFX industry. During her three years at Tixter, she worked her way up from production intern to VFX production manager on Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2. Seeking a change of scenery, she decided to relocate to Australia in 2017, initially intending to stay for a few months, but fell in love with the place and the people and ended up staying for almost 3 years. During her time in Australia she worked as VFX Production Manager for Iloura, Method and Luma on shows such as Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, Aquaman, Captain Marvel and Spider-Man: Far from Home, amongst others. In 2020, looking for a new challenge and keen to move back to Europe, she joined Alps Studios in Turin and helped grow the studio from a small team of 6 to a solid crew of 40 with plans to grow further in the future. Her main focus at Alps Studios is project bidding, financial planning and company strategy.
