Before there were sandboxes for software, there were sandboxes for people – environments and tools for rapid and enriched exploration of creative possibilities. Our class is about that broader set of sandboxes (in fact, we will not cover the more technical issue of software sandboxes at all).
Think of some of the most creative, productive, happy environments in which you ever worked or played, as an adult or a child, and ask “what can that experience teach me about making a more creatively productive environment for myself and my team?”.

In our class, we will discuss what we mean by “sandboxes” and why are they are so valuable. We’ll look at examples of successful sandboxes past and present, explain how to find (or invent) productive sandboxes, and talk about some of what we’ve learned about how to use them.

The second part of this class will be a hands-on interactive workshop in which together we will explore (or invent) some sandboxes for you to use in your own work.
