Gaussian Splatting has rapidly emerged as a high-fidelity, real-time alternative to traditional 3D representations for reconstructing captured scenes and dynamic content. While its impact on visualization and XR is growing, its implications for animation production workflows remain largely untested.

Building on the strong interest generated by last year’s workshop, this follow-up examines how Gaussian-based representations can be integrated into animation pipelines—from acquisition and layout to lighting, editing, and delivery. It covers hybrid mesh/splat workflows, animated representations, interoperability, and production use cases such as volumetric capture and stop-motion digitization.

The workshop will surface common challenges, highlight emerging approaches, and prioritize actionable insights that can inform both production pipelines and research directions.
